There have been some mysterious power outtages here recently and I want to do something to protect my stuff! How big of a battery backup system should I look for? I want it mostly for my projector but would like to be able to plug in my HD A2 and Onkyo receiver.

I don't want a battery to continue watching but to give me a chance to properly shut down my system.

A UPS would be good to allow the fan to run and cool the lamp on the PJ, but I don't see why you would need to keep the reciever and the player up to do this.

Maybe a table lamp so you can see the controls to shut down the PJ?

Just size the unit to a little over the rating of what you want to connect.

total wattage of equipment to plug in X 80% = lowest size UPS
