    Ford should give the owners the option to continue to drive after Ford disconnects the air bag adds a sticker that states "Air-bag is inop drive at your own risk". Requiring the owner sign a legal waiver.

    That's not a hard bag to get to if it's the same as the explorer (which it should be). Two small covers on either side of the wheel and two bolts. Takes about 5 minutes.

    I think this would be a problem with whatever regulatory body. Manufacturer must put cars in the road that have working airbags and such agreement with customer does not obviate the need for that.
