I'm looking for a site that lists what musical artist have released.

In particular, For an artist, I want to know:

    What they released
    When
    What formats
On what formats are they still available

I'd be most interested in CDs.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    John

Allmusic.com gives you a lot of that info, except which formats they are still available.

That is Nine Inch Nails "The Downward Spiral" and you can see that it was released in 94 on CD and cassette. In the Other Editions link you can see that the DualDisc and the Deluxe Edition were released in 2004.

Unfortunatly, you have to dig via album, it's not everything on one page, but the discography tab per artist is pretty good.

Thanks Chris, nice site. I'll be using it in the future.

But I was hoping for something a little more complete.

Let me give an example. I was browsing Amazon, looking for ELO - Out of the Blue on CD: I didn't see it selling for new. I went into a B&M Border's, and they had it. All Music doesn't have it listed.

I was hoping for a site that might show the availability of a CD, even if it isn't currently "in release".

    Thanks again,
    John

Might not be useful, but http://www.gracenote.com/ may help. I was googling for CDDB and got a hit on this site stating that it is the former CDDB site.

    Yes it does....

    http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:gifoxqt5ldse

It even lists all releases at the bottom of the page.
