Let us know whether it allows Dolby True HD via analog. I would definitely say it should work via HDMI but if it works thru Dolby True HD then it's a huge update for them.

You mean The Fifth element? They will offer a trade in program for the remastered version.

    Has this been confirmed?

I know that the Sony rep over at AVS mentioned this is as a possibility since the original BD was bad enough to qualify as a "recall", but I wasn't sure if this had been formalized.

Hmm, I just got the BD Fifth Element from Amazon, on the case it says it's 1920x1080p, with uncompressed PCM 5.1.

Is this the re-mastered version, or is something still wrong with this?

It's the old version. It looks like crap.

Well that sucks ass. Even if they do trade it out, still have to do the hassle of actually trading it.

Were they going to re-release the title, or just start shipping the new encode with the same packaging?

I ask because I thought I remember hearing that they just might slip the new encode into the market without making a big deal about it.

The re-mastered version has different specs, so it will be different packaging- maybe similar layout, but different specifics.

[Alfer]Yeah but are these minor packaging changes something that the average person is going to notice or are they just going to get screwed for not hanging out on internet forums?[/Alfer]

    Cool!

I have heard a few different ideas floated around how they are going to handle the new release of The Fifth Element, and am trying to seperate what is real and what is wishful thinking.

"Alfering." Sounds like time for a Wikipedia entry...
