What's that big red sign out front? You should do something about that... ;)

My place, still with some snow. Pretty small compared to most of you, but the wife and I had it built to suit us and we call it home.

Chris, I definitely wouldn't call it small. Looks great!

Here's a picture of mine taken yesterday (notice that it looks smaller than your place)....

This is from a few years ago--the shrubs and tree have grown a lot since then.

Jason, I remember what your house looks like, you posted it on HTF back in the day, it's a nice place for sure, post it up. But my place doesn't hang with guys like Max, or Steve T, or probably any of these houses. Jason could you imagine that kind of place the guys could have spending their kind of money in our market.

Size isn't really so important to me I prefer my place over many homes that are larger. My lot, my touches, the location are all part of it. But I've seen some sweet homes posted here that smoke me as far as straight curb appeal goes.

Nice places guys keep posting them!!!

I dream of a home like Colton's only on a lake probably a 5 acre lot with a 500' driveway. Surrounded by trees. Plus can you imagine the porn collection probably hidden inside those walls?

Eric you place is going to be pimp, plus it's in Florida.

What's the square footage on that? I can just see the ad: "A real dollhouse home for sale. Cozy and cute. Needs some TLC."

You're right Chris...what these boys could own with what they spend on homes in their market's...wow.

    Colton...nice...the porn palace!

    Steve...shite...that's a sweet pad!

    Eric...that's gonna rock when it's done...and I agree with Chris...it's in Florida! :p

I built a house around my home theater. :)

I was going to go for a one-story floor plan, and build a room over the garage, but the two-story house was only marginally more expensive, and it is certainly more marketable. Base price was around $60 a square foot, which was a bargain in these parts compared to other builders who were charging $75. The lots in these parts are also all quarter-acre on up. So I do get a workout when I mow.

The trade-off for choosing one of the lower-end builders was that I had to carefully supervise the building of the house. And, of course, I threw in all kinds of custom wiring, which back in 1999 they had never heard of. Now it is a standard option, and they even sell wire bundles that have everything you need.

Anyway, great pics everyone. I love the front porch on your house, Chris!

Get the smelling salts out. I think LarryB and David Yohn are still passed out after reading that post!

Indeed. I'll have to admit, though, that driving down parts of the PCH made me want to trade it in for a hut on the beach--which would probably cost the same as this house. :)

    Nothing elaborate, but it's home.

    $60 a square foot? $75 a square foot? <sound>

Heh...I'm in the burbs which is cheaper than the city...try $205 per square. :) And interest on my mortgage is *not* tax deductible.

    Graeme

P.S. If you are curious, my buddy who lives in the city just had his appraised for $540 per square. And that rate raises exponentially as you move up in size (his place is small -- 1600 square, but at least it is detached).
