    I have an old one of these (water heater style) and located a second (!) that looks great but has amplifier issues. Anyone own one these? How has your luck run with the plate amp? Has anyone replaced their amp? Comments from experienced users appreciated.

    I had one way way back. Ran it off an exterior amp. I remember the Pod Race, Depth Charges and battles in a Black Hawk shaking the hell out of the house. Good stuff.

    Doh!! I can put a cover over the "hole" from the plate amp and use a separate amp. Crossover and such handled by HT receiver. I even have a stand alone adjustable infrasonic filter I can use if needed.

    Thank you, Chad.

    Plate amps are so cheap, why not just get one?

    What Mike B said - get the replacement amp with variable phase control to "place" the sub exactly where you want it.

    It appears that it will be difficult to find one that will fit suitably. We will see.

    I have one in the garage that you can have for free if you can wait a couple of weeks.

    No problem. It's an old "Rythmic Audio" unit, gonna replace it with a Dayton 250.

    Flip side of the Rythmic;

    It's 10.5 x 10.5 and the cutout is 9.25 x 9.25. Let me know if you want it.
