Tattoos are like all forms of art where some people love them and some folks hate them with everyone else falling in between.

I'll agree that ink is definitely art - only thing is I can put up a really nice picture on my wall or on my end-table and when I get sick of it I can trade it in/sell it/take it down/replace it.

If my spouse were to get a some ink, and I got sick of it, to do the same as above would prove to be costly.

My boss went on a business trip with two of the younger, better-looking women in the office and suggested over dinner (probably only half-jokingly) a menage a trois. It was reported to management as sexual harassment, of course.

The CEO was told my boss had to be let go, so he asked what happened. When they repeated what had been said, the CEO asked, completely straight-faced, "speaking French is a firing offense?"

I call that a disinterested sandwich.

To me tats are a beautiful expression of individuality, or of connections. I, my wife, and both our kids all have ink, and indeed we all have the exact same tat that we got earlier this year as a "family unity" mark. They are what you make of them.

I have a co-worker who recently got a tat of his family crest/symbol

I do have to admit, that in spite of my dislike for tats, I did find his reasoning for getting it to be of admirable quality.
He was adopted, after being let go/given up by his biological parents since they weren't able to raise him on their own. (Both of which are no longer around anymore). He never did get to know them, but found out that they had a family crest and elected to have that tattoo'ed on his upper arm.

I have no doubrt that tats are often very important to those who get them. But I don't even put bumper stickers on my car.

That's because we're afraid to be individuals.

As for kids names, the rule of thumb is that kids names/portraits/whatever or the deceased are the only ones you should consider putting on your body since they are the only ones your feelings are unlikely to change about.

As long as we're talking about tats and boobs, the worst, IMO, are tats ON boobs - WTF?

Mine was a necessity....well the second one was the first one not so much. The first one was my girlfriends initials placed on my upper right arm right after I got of of boot camp. Booze, freedom from boot camp and a phillpino with a needle, string and Indian ink should be avoided at all times. The second tatt, a much larger one was needed to completely cover the first one so that the initials were ....um....no longer visible before my good wife would marry me.
So it is not my fault the second time, but it is big and cool.

Yep, me too. It's been much easier the past few cars since they're more "cling" style instead of the old paper stickers.

I tend to leave my cars pretty plain and clean. I do have a little bracelet my son made wrapped around my gear shift and that's it.

I was gonna say stick shift but... I know yews guys too well to say that

I've only had 3 cars - all brand new - and none of them have ever had a dealership sticker or bumper sticker. Dealer license plate brackets don't bother me.
